{"id":5329,"date":"2021-12-08T04:58:28","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T01:58:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.albadeel-alsheoi.org\/ar\/?p=5329"},"modified":"2021-12-11T18:22:21","modified_gmt":"2021-12-11T15:22:21","slug":"press-release-comrade-nawzad-baban-and-all-the-other-detainees-must-be-freed-immediately","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.albadeel-alsheoi.org\/ar\/?p=5329","title":{"rendered":"Press Release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\">Comrade Nawzad Baban and all the other detainees must be freed immediately<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">For over two weeks widespread students\u2019 demonstrations continue in the cities of Kurdistan, amid the government\u2019s procrastination and refusal to give in to their demands.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Throughout this period, the government forces in the cities of Kurdistan resorted to various oppressive methods in order to silence and suppress the protests, including; shooting live bullets, using electric batons, beatings, kidnapping, physical and psychological torture, and withholding information about the detainee\u2019s whereabouts from their families.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Today, with the re-start of a new phase of students\u2019 demonstrations in universities and colleges, the repressive apparatus has once again launched another campaign of mass arrests and torture.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Comrade Nawzad Baban (a member of the Central Committee of the Organisation of the Communist Alternative in Iraq) was among the detainees caught up in this campaign, he was arrested this afternoon along with a number of students and freedom lovers by the (Asayish)\u00a0 Security forces in Sulaymaniyah.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">We denounce and condemn in the strongest terms this repressive act of the authorities and their agencies, and all detainees must be released immediately.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of Comrade Nawzad and all the other detainees lie with the authorities in Sulaymaniyah and the regional government.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Victory for the student\u2019s struggle <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Freedom for all detainees of the student demonstrations<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Organisation of The Communist Alternative in Iraq<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">7\/12\/2021<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Comrade Nawzad Baban and all the other detainees must be freed immediately For over two weeks widespread students\u2019 demonstrations continue in the cities of Kurdistan, amid the government\u2019s procrastination and refusal to give in to their demands.
